Works at Hand, at Barrilete Museum

Opened on October 7th, 2017, and running for one whole year (yes, until October 2018), Barrilete Children’s Museum, of the city of Córdoba (Recta Martinoli 7867, Barrio Argüello), organized a gigantic interactive exhibition with installation-art representing my books. It is a spectacular and completely playful experience, in which children and adults may literally “go inside” a city of paper, visit the Sinalefo Exultante Museum from Puatucha Rentes, “become” the colors of Can you see?, go beyond the obvious at the Obvious area, build and launch paper planes from the platform of Departing Plane, Arriving Plane, walk over Möbius strips, and many more wonders. Each area has a workshop where one can free one’s inspiration and create one’s own works of art. The exhibition is available to be a travelling exhibition.

  • 100 years of the school Escuela Normal 3 of the City of Rosario, Province of Santa Fe, Argentina

100 years of the school Escuela Normal 3 of the City of Rosario, Province of Santa Fe, Argentina

On June 26th, 20017, the school Escuela Normal 3 “Mariano Moreno” of the city of Rosario, Province of Santa Fe, Argentina, celebrated 100 years as educational center. The landmark was celebrated in splendor. Among the activities, an exhibition represented 10 key moments in the history of the institution. I was invited to close the celebrations with a picture representing the present of the school, and its 100 years of history. I represented it with an image divided into the past, which was made in black and white, and the future, in full color, which I summarized in a brief poetic text that completed and completes the picture, which is kept in the art museum of the school:
"To get stripped of leaves and to bloom, to live through winters and summers, to go over storms and quiet days… and to always blossom again.
100 years of Jacaranda trees at the Entre Ríos street.
    100 years of Normal 3"

  • Papel principal: Istvansch” (Main Role: Istvansch), at Instituto Juan Bautista Alberdi, Isidro Casanova, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

“Papel principal: Istvansch” (Main Role: Istvansch), at Instituto Juan Bautista Alberdi, Isidro Casanova, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The school Escuela Alberdi has a delightful characteristic: it does not only make the –one might say– best private art gallery of originals of children’s books available to their students, but also invite renowned illustrators to make large exhibitions of their works, which are displayed in the hallways of the school, so that children may learn surrounded by art. Between April 25th, 2017 and July 17th, 2017, my works experienced the joy of encountering inquisitive faces and amazed eyes while discovering the overlapping of minute paper cuts, among laughs and games.

The bus of the Villa la Angostura’s Library

On November 25, 2016, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Biblioteca Popular Osvaldo Bayer, in Villa la Angostura, Neuquén, I began to paint an old bus. Full of colors, suns, birds and worlds, a few days later it was located at the main square of the town. The bus will be used as reading room and event hall for children, but also I hope it becomes an icon to invite new readers to approach to the wonderful library of this beautiful city of Patagonia.

Mural “Suns and Flowers”, at the ECuNHi

In 2015, Istvansch made a mural at Cultural Centre “Our Children”, of the Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo Association. He called it “Suns and Flowers” to commemorate the mythical "Landing" of Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo at the ESMA, the building where the most dreadful concentration camp operated during the state terrorism of the military dictatorship that ruled Argentina between 1976 and 1983. Today the place is a Memorial Centre. You can see the live work in the video

Sala infantil “Istvansch” [Children Reading Room Istvansch] Villa La Angostura, Neuquén, Argentina.

The Children Reading Room Istvansch at the Community Library Osvaldo Bayer, in Villa La Angostura, Neuquén, offers plenty of good books for children, enthusiasm, passion, narrators who read out loud, good vibe and –also– an original mural painting made of EVA rubber, scissors and glue. It may be seen in the picture presiding over the room that bears Istvansch’s name. Istvansch has said: “This is a truly unexpected tribute. I would like to thank the people of this city-paradise, especially the people of the wonderful Community Library Osvaldo Bayer.”
